Joanna Nyenhuis is the Owner, Trainer & Coach at Endeavor Equestrian. She and her husband Terry recently moved to Virginia from New York when Terry was offered a new job. Jo caught the horse bug when she started taking lessons at eight years old and never looked back. During her junior and early adult years before going Pro, she focused on building and growing her partnership with her horse Remington to be successful in and out of the show ring. Over the years Jo has been lucky enough to work with some very knowledgeable horsemen and women. Those amazing people have molded her into the instructor, trainer, and all-around horsewoman she is today.
Jo has over twenty years of experience teaching with students, ranging from first-time riders as young as four years old to advanced riders who were working towards fine-tuning their skills.
Her students have had success while showing locally in Massachusetts, along with being successful on the very competitive GHJA Hunter/Jumper circuit while she was living in Georgia.
Jo's Approach to Teaching & Training
Jo has an individualized approach when teaching students and training horses as she believes every person and horse learns in their own way. Jo strives to create harmony between horse and rider by teaching the rider how to listen to the horse, in turn, this teaches the rider how to communicate with the horse in a way the horse will understand. She works with each rider's strengths and weaknesses to help them achieve their goals.
